Pico Mina is a retired real estate and development executive with experience in both the private and public sectors. He began his career in Houston, TX as CEO of Doctors Center, a 26-story medical professional building with imaging and surgery centers. Doctors Center was in the famous Texas Medical Center, the world’s largest medical center. After being Vice President and Chief Facilities Officer for the University of Texas Health Science Center at Houston, in 2005, Pico returned to San Diego and joined BioMed Realty Trust, Inc (BMR) – an NYSE – traded REIT focused on real estate for the life science industry.

 

During a 15-year career at BioMed Realty, as Vice President, Development, Pico was the Project Lead/Owners Representative for over 100 successful projects including entitlement, new building build- to-suit and ground up construction and redevelopment of single building and campus properties. He also led numerous tenant improvement projects of all sizes and complexities.

 

Pico holds a Master of Business Administration degree from the University of Southern California and an undergrad Bachelor of Science in Business Administration from San Diego State. For the last two years, Pico has been a consultant for Innovative Industrial Properties, Inc (IIPR) – an NYSE – traded REIT.
