Indra Gardiner Bowers is a San Diego-based communications and marketing executive with more than three decades of agency leadership experience spanning public relations, brand strategy, public affairs, and crisis management. She currently serves as Chief Communications Officer at 62ABOVE + ALHI, following the 2024 sale of 62ABOVE, the creative agency she founded and led for more than four years.

 

Over her career, Indra has founded and led three successful integrated agencies. Under her leadership, i.d.e.a., her second firm, earned B Corporation certification — a formal recognition of its commitment to employee welfare, community investment, and sustainable business practices.

She brings deep expertise in hospitality and tourism marketing, having begun her career at Marriott before moving to the agency side, where she has managed integrated campaigns for major hotel brands including W Hotels, Kimpton, Hilton, and Sheraton, as well as destination marketing work for Catalina Island, Coronado, and Baja California. She has also led public advocacy and educational programs for Qualcomm for more than a decade, including course development for The Inventor’s Patent Academy.

 

Indra is a PRSA Silver Anvil Award winner and former Chair of PRSA’s Counselors Academy. She is actively engaged in the broader community, serving on the board of WILDCOAST, an international coastal conservation organization. She previously served as Board Secretary of Business for Good San Diego and on the Western Region Board of Governors for the American Association of Advertising Agencies (4As).

 

Indra earned her Bachelor of Science in Hotel, Restaurant & Travel Administration from the University of Massachusetts Amherst. She resides in Mission Hills with her husband, Paul.
