Barbara Stanley graduated from University of Cincinnati with an Industrial Engineering degree and accepted a manufacturing position with Solar Turbines. Over her 38 year career ending in 2020, she held numerous leadership positions in the company with her final position Vice president of Power Generation and Strategic Growth. Throughout her tenure her leadership contributed on many fronts from advancing 3D manufacturing applications, new products, and driving global expansion strategy requiring Caterpillar Board approvals for funding. She served as a district manager in Europe with responsibilities for 18 countries early in her career. And as her responsibilities grew, she served on numerous committees responsible for the product development, sales, operations, product quality, people development, and compliance.

 

Her local involvement included the UCSD School of Engineering Corporate Affiliate Program, the Cal Poly Engineering Dean’s Advisory Board , and San Diego Cleantech board member. She was a National Conference lecturer for the Society of Women Engineers. She currently serves as a CASA (Court Appointed Special Advocate) for a foster child.
